Scope and Content:
Photographs depicting scenes from, 'Samara's shop', a play about a character, Youssef, working to support Syrian refugees from a shop in Derry. The play considers the parallels between Ireland's history of famine, migration, and war, and the contemporary experiences of migrants from the middle east. Written by Patricia Byrne for Sole Purpose Productions, and performed at the Derry Playhouse in September 2021.
Photographs show Julie-Yara Atz playing Sedra (in red) and alongside Cara Park, as Muireann; also Karim Motaz as Najib, alongside Baraa Halabieh as Youssef, Conan Hamilton playing Jimmy, and Sean Donegan as Brendan.
