Scope and Content:

Programme for Sole Purpose production, 'Samara's shop', a play about a character, Youssef, working to support Syrian refugees from a shop in Derry. The play considers the parallels between Ireland's history of famine, migration, and war, and the contemporary experiences of migrants from the middle east. Written by Patricia Byrne, and performed at the Derry Playhouse in September 2021.
