Professor Pauline Murphy has pioneered many major educational initiatives in Northern Ireland, at secondary, higher and community levels. She founded the Northern Ireland Community Education Association, which addressed adult, further and community needs in catholic and protestant communities.
Other significant initiatives which were established by Professor Murphy, include the Training for Women Network, and the Women’s Opportunity / Social Inclusion Unit at the University of Ulster. On retirement from the University, she was made Emeritus Professor of Social Inclusion, and established PPPd Consultancy. Professor Murphy continues to remain proactive and influential in the field of local and international education.
