Geraldine Finucane Speech, 'The Elephant in the Room', 2007

Date:

20/02/2007

REF:

NIPC/FIN/BOX1(10)

Scope and Content:

Handwritten notes for a speech written by Geraldine Finucane titled 'The Elephant in the Room' that was delivered at an event in February, 2007. The event was organised to coincide with a major international policing conference held concurrently in Belfast, where the issue of collusion was not on the discussion agenda. In the speech, Geraldine Finucane considers why collusion may have been left off the agenda, and addresses the need for a public inquiry into the murder of her husband, Pat. She writes "to be able to move on we need to know what went on.'
